Center for Military Medicine Research Director, Dr. Ron Poropatich visited Warsaw, Poland on October 22-28, 2023, and participated in the Department of Defense-funded “Casualty Care Assessment of Russo-Ukraine War” meeting focused on Rehabilitation led by Colonel (Ret.) Paul Pasquina, MD, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center and Uniformed Services for the Health Sciences. Dr. Poropatich gave a talk titled – “The Potential of Tele-rehabilitation and Artificial Intelligence into Rehabilitative Care.”
While in Warsaw, on October 26, 2023, Dr. Poropatich visited with Colonel Arthur Bachta, MD, PhD (to the left of Ron in white coat) - Deputy Director of the Wojskowy Instytut Medyczny (WIM – www.wim.mil.pl), which serves as the Warsaw Military Medical Center for Poland. They have a military/civilian patient population and are establishing a medical school in 2024 to include military medical students. Dr. Poropatich is seen receiving the WIM plaque and is involved in building collaborative research programs between the WIM and the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine.
