The Swanson School of Engineering (SSOE) and the Center for Military Medicine Research (CMMR) co-hosted a meeting on advancing research in personal protection and performance for soldiers and civilians on March 21-22 at the University Club in Pittsburgh, PA. Over 60 invited guests including program managers and subject matter experts from the Army engaged in robust scientific discussions with investigators from the University of Pittsburgh, University of Delaware Center for Composite Materials, University of Massachusetts Amherst, Northeastern University, and Harvard University. The array of projects ranged from fundamental basic science to advanced development and evaluation, from biology to material science, and from molecular modeling to human performance science.
